There is a high risk of P.Falciparum malaria in Darien province and the San Blas Islands. There is a variable risk of P.Vivax malaria in Bocas del Toro, Colon, David, Boquete and a large portion of the country. There is a low to no risk of malaria in Panama canal zone and the city, in Pedasi and Santiago.

Yellow fever certification is required if arriving from a country with high risk of yellow fever.

It is important before travelling to ensure you are up to date with childhood immunisations such as measles, mumps and rubella.
